Respawn, the makers of Apex Legends, had been working on a Star Wars game, but it was unfortunately cancelled. This means though that the devs are able to work on another project and this one seems to be set in the Titanfall universe according to Insider Gaming.

While this doesn't look to be Titanfall 3 – sorry – this game is going to be a part of the Titanfall universe, which still should get players pretty excited for this upcoming title.

Jeff Grubb revealed on the Game Mess Mornings podcast that while Respawn's Star Wars game has been cancelled, the devs have shifted to a new project that just as exciting, if not more so. This new title is set in the Titanfall universe.

While the cancelled game, a first person Mandalorian shooter, won't see the light of day after multiple layoffs at EA and Respawn, at least fans know that there is something else being worked on. Unfortunately, this isn't Titanfall 3 though, but just a game set in the universe.

The game as it stands today, as far as I understand it, is a Titanfall game – it’s set in the Titanfall universe.

There is not much information known yet about this game. Could this be some form of resurgence of Titanfall Legends, which had been put on ice a while ago? The game would have been a single player title in the Apex Legends universe, which would have probably gained insane popularity thanks to how popular Apex Legends is.

For now we just have to be patient until Respawn and EA give more information and background on what a game in the Pitfall universe looks like without it actually being Titanfall 3...
