Assassin's Creed Codename Red Will Get Sleeker Graphics And The Best Of Its Predecessors

New insider information on Assassin's Creed Codename Red reveals details on graphics, gameplay mechanics and familiar features from previous installments. If the new game lives up to its promises, fans of the Assassin's Creed franchise have much to look forward to.

Assassin's Creed Codename Red, the next main game in the series, has been a long time coming after the last title Valhalla. Finally, after a long wait, it is set to release at the end of 2024. Tom Henderson (Insider Gaming) has leaked exclusive details about the game's exciting upcoming features.

AC: Codename Red Features An Improved Engine And New Gameplay Mechanics

According to Henderson, the Assassin's Creed franchise as a whole will not move to a new engine, but will instead use a substantially evolved version of it called the 'Anvil Pipeline'. Given that, Codename Red would benefit visually from the likes of ray-traced global illumination and virtual geometry.

Henderson states that the game incorporates mechanics from Ubisoft's series Splinter Cell. The environment is integrated even more into the gameplay, with extinguishable light sources and shadows for the player to hide in. Additionally, there will be destructible environments. According to Henderson, players have the ability to break anything that can be broken in real life, including doors and walls made of wood and paper.

Settlement Building And Bloody Battles

Red will once again feature two protagonists who are not chosen based on gender. Instead, they are two completely different characters who differ not only in appearance, but also in their abilities. One of the characters is said to be the real African assassin Yasuke.

According to Henderson, the combat in Assassin's Creed Codename Red has been described to him as being a bit like Valhalla, but with a lot more gore, including blood and decapitations.

In addition, like in Valhalla, there will be a settlement called the Hideout. This is where players can construct buildings such as an armory, dojo, or altar. The buildings are customizable, allowing players to pick the location, the roof design, the interior layout and where to display their weapons and armor.

So far, Ubisoft has not confirmed any of this. However, Tom Henderson is a well-informed insider and journalist in the video game industry. And it sounds like the information is credible — so we might have something to look forward to.
