LoL: Faker Bamboozles Fans With Last-Minute Worlds Skin Switch

Faker getting an Ahri skin was what most had thought would happen for his 2023 Worlds victory. But it seems he's decided on a different champion.

The 2023 World Championship ended with T1 winning it all, much to the surprise of many. T1 had not been the favorites going into the tournament due to a shaky Summer Split, but they were the team to set the meta and choose which champions are the best.

So, of course, they get to pick skins for champions the players used throughout the 1-month tournament. Most thought that the picks were locked in, but it seems that two players – Faker and Keria – have made some last-minute switches.

LoL: Faker Does Not Pick Ahri For Worlds 2023 Skin

Last year, ahead of the 2022 World Championship, Faker stated that he would love to have an Ahri skin as his next Worlds skin, if he were to win again. The team missed first place by an inch, but managed their revenge in 2023 with a resounding victory.

Having played Ahri in the finals, everyone thought that this would be it and that Faker would be getting his Worlds Ahri skin for this victory, but it seems that the mid laner has decided to change his mind.

He has decided to go with Orianna for his World Championship pick instead. The reason? Faker believes that Ahri already has enough pretty skins. Orianna mains thank you sir.

Orianna was probably, aside from Azir, his most impactful champion throughout the tournament, so it would make sense to pick her, since the champ has a much deeper meaning throughout the Worlds run than Ahri does, which is nice to see. Azir already has an SKT T1 skin, from Easyhoon, so giving a skin to Orianna makes perfect sense.

Keria Picks Bard Or Renata?

Keria has also been flip-flopping between skins. Since he did not get to play his number one pick, Lux, at the tournament, he had a hard time picking from the large champion pool he did play, but has ended up choosing Renata Glasc. Sad Bard noises...

But there is a twist to the story here. It seems that the skin deadline was December 22 at 5 pm KST and Keria chose Renata Glasc at the time. He then thought about it over and over again and at around midnight decided to change one last time, even apologizing to Riot.

So, it seems that we can now get hyped for a Bard skin in 2024. The other players have had their picks locked in for a while with Jayce, Lee Sin and Jinx. So what theme will the T1 skins have in 2024?
