League of Legends Patch 14.3: Instead Of Buffing ASol He Got Majorly Nerfed

In League of Legends Patch 14.3 Aurelion Sol got a huge buff, but Riot quickly had to make some changes to stop him from getting too strong.

In LoL Patch 14.3, Aurelion Sol got a major buff in the mid lane to help him out after the item changes, which made him feel less than stellar. He was off to an insane start, with his win rate shooting up to 57% at one point, which prompted Riot to quickly ship a hotfix nerf.

Now, Aurelion Sol feels worse than ever before, which has some players wondering why Riot even bothered to touch the champion in the first place.

League of Legends Patch 14.3: Hotfix Patch Makes ASol Weaker Than Ever

Aurelion Sol had multiple changes in this League of Legends patch. The team wanted to make him a bit less reliant on his E – Singularity to passively farm stacks. Instead, the team wanted him to be more proactive, which is why they greatly buffed his Q – Breath of Light.

Due to item changes, his mana cost was also adjusted to make up for some of the removed extra mana from some items, like Liandry's.

These changes made the giant space dragon a little too OP. His win rate shot up and his pick and ban rate also increased within a day of the changes being live, which is why Riot is quickly nerfing the champion's Q and W, but the community is not happy with these hotfixes.

The Q Stardust stacks per champion burst have been changed from 3 to 2 and his W cooldown is seeing a huge increase going from 15/14/13/12/11 seconds to 22/20.5/19/17.5/16 seconds. The W bonus damage applied to Q is also seeing a major nerf, going from 18/20/22/24/26% to 8/9/10/11/12%.

Especially the bonus damage change is going to hurt the champion. Before the buff, the bonus damage numbers sat at 14/15.5/17/18.5/20%. Add in the fewer stacks for Q, and you've got a champion that looks worse on paper than before the buffs in Patch 14.3.
