The new End of an Era Squad Building Challenge in EA FC 24 for Megan Rapinoe is one of the most disliked in the history of Ultimate Team. Sadly, this has nothing to do with the prize or her stats. Why the community disgraces itself with these downvotes.
US icon Megan Rapinoe has retired from playing soccer. In honor of her great achievements, EA Sports has given the 38-year-old a special card in FC 24 Ultimate Team. You can get it via End of an Era SBC. Looking at the reaction of the community leaves me baffled.
This card has received far more dislikes than the wife beater Mason Greenwood in FIFA 22. The community shows once again that they are not to be taken seriously.
EA FC 24: Rapinoe Downvotes Show Which Guys Are Playing Ultimate Team
Meanwhile, the EoaE SBC has received over 70,000 downvotes on the Ultimate Team platform futbin.com, which shows the massive hatred of pretty much everyone who is active there. With only over 2,600 likes, the result is clear. She sucks.
Her standard gold card and the TOTW version also received many more dislikes than likes. Which leads to the questions: is she overrated, is she too expensive, is she the kind of player who just can't perform as well as her stats suggest? Why is this SBC so unpopular?
Let me say this much: Ultimate Team is played by some of the most toxic people imaginable. Have you ever been down 0-3 and then managed to come back up to 3-3? Well, you know what happens next: The connection to the opponent is lost.
What can I expect from people who are stupid enough to spend their money on the same game and in-game items every year? Apparently not much.
Why Blindly Hating Rapinoe Shows What Kind Of Person You Are
Now, I am not saying that you have to love Megan Rapinoe or that you're a fascist if you don't like her. Things like not even looking at the little boy while she signs his ball are not cool, everyone can agree on that.
But do you actually know the main reasons why she is hated and by what kind of people? Thought so. Here are the top reasons why men (yes, no need for a gender neutral term here) hate Megan Rapinoe:
- She is a confident lesbian who does not dress feminine
- She speaks out for equal pay
- She raises her voice for the LGBTQ community
- She knelt during the US anthem to protest police brutality and racism
- She declined to visit the White House while Donald Trump was President
A loud woman who has her own opinions and does not fit into the world of incels. She definitely deserves thoughtful comments like this under her SBC:
I want to remind you of the implications of joining in on the unthinking "HAHAHA I HATE HER TOO" opinions. It's important to reflect on the comments you make and the stance you take.
I don't have high expectations for the Ultimate Team community anymore – and I say that as someone who considers myself part of the community. But to see this hate and bigotry from you guys is another low point. Like I said, not even a Mason Greenwood got this amount of hate. His downvotes stopped at about 40,000.
