Ballon d'Or In EA FC 24: Why EA Should Release The First Special Cards This Year

For the first time, EA Sports has secured the rights to include the Ballon d'Or award to the former FIFA series, now renamed EA FC 24. This is something that fans have been looking forward to for years. There's a chance we'll finally see the first Ballon d'Or special card for the winner in Ultimate Team this year.

For the 67th time, the Ballon d'Or ceremony, presented by France Magazine, will take place on Monday, October 30. Every year the FIFA community waits for a special card for the best player of the year and every year we are disappointed when it does not come into fruition.

This season could be different as EA has added the Ballon d'Or to the Career Mode in EA FC 24 for the very first time. Since they have finally secured the rights to present the player of the year award in their game, we might also get a special card in Ultimate Team for the Ballon d'Or winner or even the nominees.

EA FC 24 Ballon d'Or: Will EA Miss Out Again To Release A Player Of The Year Card?

Rumors are swirling that Lionel Messi could win his 8th Ballon d'Or – and how great would it be if he could get the award in Ultimate Team as well?

We can only hope that EA is not asleep and will at least include something special for this award. It's nice that we can win it in Career Mode – but we would almost sell our souls for a cracked Messi Ballon d'Or card before he retires and is included as an unaffordable Icon.

If EA once again overlooks the inclusion of the Ballon d'Or in Ultimate Team, it will be a glaring-missed opportunity to please many fans.
