Andor Season 2: Release Window Teased By Luthen Rael Actor

Good news first: Andor season 2 has been confirmed! Bad news: even though it's already been a while, fans will have to wait even longer. Although, we do at least now have some idea of the release window thanks to a recent tease from the actor who plays Luthen Rael.

When people think of Star Wars, typically Jedi and Sith come to mind. In a galaxy far, far away, people with access to the Force are usually the main characters. That's why Andor and the story of Cassian was a neat change of pace and was well received by fans.

It's been some time since the first season's finale, though, and fans have been wondering when the Disney+ show continues. I'm heartbroken to tell you, but 2024 won't be the year, but we'll get into that soon. Try to find solace in the fact that season 2 is happening, it just takes some time.

As a short recap, the Disney series "Star Wars: Andor" is giving us the prequel story that leads to the happenings of Rogue One, with the spy and assassin Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna) as the protagonist.

Andor Season 2 Release Date Teased By Luthen Rael Actor

For the longest time, fans have been hoping for a 2024 return of Cassian Andor. Sadly, Disney recently confirmed their upcoming releases, and Andor was not among them.

There are some other Star Wars shows set to hit the screens this year, including The Acolyte and Skeleton Crew, as well as the third season of The Bad Batch, so there's still Star Wars to enjoy, but not Andor.

However, we think we can expect Andor Season 2 early next year, this is thanks to a recent interview the actor who plays Luthen Rael gave to GamesRadar. In the interview, Stellan Skarsgård said he expects the show "will probably be out towards the end of the year or early next." As mentioned above, we think there are other reasons to discount a 2024 release, but early-2025 is still great.

Andor's Season 2 Time-Jumps, Like, A Lot

Gilroy also revealed some plot-related information about the upcoming season (Spoilers ahead!). In another interview with Polygon, he stated that at the beginning of season 2, one year will have passed since the events from the first season's finale. Furthermore, season 2 will do several time jumps, taking the plot only some days ahead of the events of Rogue One .

After this reveal, further information surfaced regarding the timeline of the episodes. Apparently, Andor season 2 will be split into blocks of three episodes, with each block taking place over one year. With 12 episodes, that means that season 2 will portray around four years of Cassian's life.

As we already know where Cassian will end up after those four years passed, it will be interesting to follow his journey and see how he gets there. Season 1 convinced with its deep storytelling and well-developed characters, so we're excited to see how season 2 further expands on that.
