The Disney+ series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could be getting a second season. These rumors have come up after the Collector's Edition Blu-ray was revealed.
Disney+ and Marvel have released multiple hit series already and one of them was The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which brought back fan-favorite characters from the Captain America and Avengers films.
While the series only lasted a single season, there is hope for a second, years after its initial release, and it's all thanks to the upcoming Collector's Edition Blu-ray release.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Season 2 Rumored To Happen
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is a Marvel mini-series that explores the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. It follows Sam Wilson (The Falcon) and Bucky Barnes (The Winter Soldier) as they navigate a world without Captain America, tackling global threats, personal challenges, and the legacy of the shield.
The series was well-received by fans who had already grown attached to the characters throughout various films. The story was also quite interesting with how these two different individuals dealt with the repercussions of their friends legacy falling into the wrong hands.
Now, three years after the initial series premiered on Disney+ there are rumors that the show could be getting another season. On April 30, 2024 the Collector's Edition is being released, and it's currently being marketed as "The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: The Complete First Season".
This has some people believing that the series could be getting another season, since it isn't being called "The complete series", but only "first season" which hints at more episodes in the future.
In comparison, another Disney+ series which is getting a Blu-ray edition, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi is being sold as "The Complete Series". This could hint that the Obi Wan series is done for, while Disney and Marvel still have some plans for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Right now this is not confirmed though and just speculation. Sam Wilson is going to star as Captain America in the 2025 Captain America: Brave New World, while Bucky Barnes is slated to appear in the Thunderbolts movie.
