LoL Patch 14.4: Rek'Sai Mini Rework, Support Item Adjustments & Porcelain Skins

Buckle up for some significant changes for champion that really need one! Below, we show you all changes in Patch 14.4, including champion adjustments, as well as lots of adaptations for the new support item World Atlas and its upgrades, as well as other items.

Champion Changes

Our tricky champ K'Sante is getting some more tweaks, and it's not just him – Rek'Sai is getting a bunch of adjustments that practically feel like a mini rework.

Bard

  • Armor growth reduced: 5.2 → 5
  • Base attack speed increased: 0.625 → 0.658
  • Attack speed ratio increased: 0.625 → 0.658
  • Meep base damage per 5 Chimes reduced: 14 → 10
  • Meep AP ratio increased: 30% → 40%
  • Q – Cosmic Binding
    • Base damage reduced: 80-260 → 80-240
    • AP ratio increased: 65% → 80%

K'Sante

  • Base health increased: 570 → 625
  • Base mana increased: 290 → 320
  • Q – Ntofo Strike
    • No longer slows during All Out [R]
  • W – Path Maker
    • Damage resist ratios (MR + armor) increased: 50% → 85%
    • Cooldown no longer reduced during All Out [R]
    • All Out [R] minimum charge time increased: 0.5 → 0.75
  • E – Footwork
    • Dash speed reduced: 1500 → 900
    • Ally dash speed reduced: 1800 → 1100
    • All Out [R] dash speed reduced: 2100 → 1450

Rek'Sai

  • Base health regeneration reduced: 7.5 → 2.5
  • Health regeneration growth reduced: .65 → .5
  • Base movement speed increased: 335 → 340
  • Passive – Fury of the Xer'Sai
    • Fury generation reduced by 50% against minions
    • Max healing changed: 10 (+2-105 (based on level) max health) → 12-20% (based on level) max health)
  • Q – Queen's Wrath (Unborrowed)
    • Now functions as a basic attack instead of a spell (attack time is now based on attack speed)
    • Now grants 45% bonus attack speed for its 3 attacks
  • Q – Prey Seeker (Burrowed)
    • Vooldown reduced: 12-10s → 10s flat
    • Base AD reduced: 60-200 → 50-170
    • Bonus AD scaling reduced: 50% → 25%
  • W – Burrow
    • Bonus movement speed changed: 5/10/15 (1/6/11) → 5/10/15/20/25 (based on rank)
    • Vision radius increased: 25% → 35%
  • W – Unburrow
    • Now knock up all champs for 1s, not just the primary target (revert of Rek'Sai's E when first released)
    • Base damage reduced: 50-190 → 50-150
    • Now scales with 80% AP instead of bonus AD
  • E – Furious Bite (Unburrow)
    • Now displays a cosmetic critical strike when fully empowered
    • Cooldown reduced: 12s → 10s
    • Base damage removed
    • AD ratio increased: 70% → 100%
    • Now deals 6-14% max HP at max fury instead of double damage
  • E – Tunnel (Burrow)
    • Cooldown reduced: 26-18s → 18-14s
    • Cooldown reduced: 10-2s → 6-2s
    • Tunnel speed increased: 550 + movement speed from Boots → 500 + total movement speed
    • Removed the 0.05s hitch when manually casting Tunnel
    • Already-placed tunnels are taken roughly 20% faster
  • R – Void Rush
    • Bonus AD ratio reduced: 175% → 100%

Smolder

  • Q – Super Scorcher Breath
    • Number of missiles changed: 2+1 per 100 stacks → 1 (+1 per 67 stacks)
    • If a minion dies while Q is in flight towards it, Smolder will still receive a stack
  • W – Achooo!
    • Cooldown changed: 13-11s → 14-10s
    • Initial physical damage changed: 70-150 (+25% AD) (+35% AP) → 50-170 (+25% AD) (+20% AP)
    • Explosion physical damage
      • AD ratio reduced: 25% total AD → 25% bonus AD
      • AP ratio increased: 65% → 80%
  • R – MMOOOMMMM!
    • Will now cast even if Smolder dies during cast time

Next to some huge adjusments, we also got some smaller, but very welcome, changes for some champions. Soraka, Kai'Sa, Volibear and more champions are getting some love.

Ahri

  • Health growth increased: 96 → 104
  • Q – Orb of Deception
    • AP ratio increased: 45% → 50%

Fiddlesticks

  • W – Bountiful Harvest
    • Range increased: 700 → 725 (compensation for tether changes)

Jayce

  • base AD increased: 57 → 59
  • W – Lightning Field
    • Mana restore increased: 10-20 → 15-25
    • Magic damage per second increased: 35-110 → 40-115
  • E – Acceleration Gate
    • Will now root targets on cast (interactions with other champ's abilities should be less awkward; can be compared with Lee Sin R)

Kai'Sa

  • R – Killer Instinct
    • Range increased: 1500-3000 → 2000-3000

Lulu

  • Q – Glitterlance
    • Damage from second bolt increased: 25% of first bolt → 50% of first bolt
  • E – Help, Pix!
    • Damage increased: 80-240 → 80-260
    • Shield amount increased: 75-235 → 80-260
  • R – Wild Growth
    • AP scaling increased: 45% → 55%

Renekton

  • Q – Cull The Meek
    • Healing increased: 12-36 (+15% bonus AD) → 12-44 (17% bonus AD)
  • E – Slice
    • Cooldown reduced: 16-12s → 16-10s
  • R – Dominus
    • Bonus health increased: 250-550 → 300-700

Soraka

  • Passive – Salvation
    • Movement speed increased: 70% → 90%
  • Q – Starcall
    • Heal increased: 50-110 → 60-120
  • E – Equinox
    • now silences enemies in the area instantly rather than after a variable delay
  • R – Wish
    • Cooldown reduced: 160-130s → 150-120s

Thresh

  • Base armor increased: 28 → 31
  • E – Flay
    • Base damage increased: 75-235 → 75-255
  • R – The Box
    • Cooldown reduced: 140-100s → 120-80s

Volibear

  • Q – Thundering Smash
    • Movement speed increased: 8-24% → 12-28%
  • E – Sky Splitter
    • Cooldown reduced: 13s → 12s
  • R – Stormbringer
    • Cooldown reduced: 160-120s → 130-100s
    • Turret disable duration reduced: 3-5s → 2-4s
    • is now unstoppable instead of CC immune

Champion Nerfs

Seems like Riot is not done with the Aurelion Sol nerfs yet. After a hotfix, he now gets adjusted once again. Other annoying champions that dominated the game in the last couple patches are also getting some nerfs, including Maokai and Twisted Fate.

Aurelion Sol

  • Q – Breath of the Light
    • Bonus magic damage per 1s reduced: 60-100 (+35% AP) → 55-95 (+30% AP)

Fiora

  • W – Riposte
    • Sttack speed slow reduced: 50% → 25% (regular slow unchanged)

Illaoi

  • Passive – Prophet of an Elder God
    • Tentacle AD ratio reduced: 115% → 100%

Kalista

  • Bugfix: Boots of Speed now properly affect passive dash distance
  • E – Rend
    • Base damage reduced: 20-60 → 10-50 (per Stack damage unchanged)

Maokai

  • Base armor reduced: 39 → 35
  • Q – Bramble Smash
    • Base damage reduced: 70-270 → 65-265
  • R – Nature's Grasp
    • Root duration reduced: .8-2.6s → .75-2.25s

Twisted Fate

  • Attack speed growth reduced: 3% → 2.5%
  • W – Pick a Card
    • Blue Card AP ratio reduced: 115% → 100%
  • E – Stacked Deck
    • AP ratio reduced: 50% → 40%

Varus

  • Base AD reduced: 62 → 60

Zyra

  • Plant base damage reduced: 20-88 → 16-84
  • Bonus monster damage increased: 40-100 → 60-100

Next to some huge changes for champs like Rek'Sai or K'Sante, Riot also adapts the new support item World Atlas and its upgrades, but also some other ones.

Hubris

  • VFX adjusted

Hullbreaker

  • Stacking and bonus damage changed from effects to on-hit (indirect Urgot nerf)

Runic Compass

  • Recharge timer increased: 18s → 20s

Solstice Sleigh

  • Movement speed changed: 90 flat, decaying over 4s → 30% bonus movement speed, decaying over 3s
  • Heal changed: 120 → 7% max HP

Terminus

  • Item recipe changed: Dagger replaced with Recurve Bow (total cost unchanged)
  • Number of stacks reduced: 5 → 3 (total number of stacks: 10 → 6)
  • Resist per stack changed: 3/4/5 (1/11/14) → 6-8 (1/11/14)
  • Max resist changed: 15/20/25 → 18-24
  • Penetration per stack increased: 6% → 10% (max 30%; unchanged)

World Atlas

  • Quest charge timer increased: 18s → 20s
  • First charge timer reduced: 2:08 → 1:50 in-game time
  • will no longer provide bonus stacks if purchased later in the game

Zaz'Zak's Realmspike

  • Base damage reduced: 50 → 20
  • AP ratio increased: 15% → 20%
  • Target max health damage increased: 3% → 4%
  • Cooldown changed: 9-6s (level 1-18) → 8/7/6s (level 1/11/16)

Item Buffs

Archangel's Staff / Seraph's Embrace

  • Ability haste increased: 20 → 25

Black Cleaver

  • Item recipe changed: Kindlegem and Long Sword replaced by Caulfield's Warhammer and Ruby Crystal (total cost unchanged)
  • Armor shred per stack increased: 4% → 5%
  • Number of stacks reduced: 6 → 5 (total shred: 24% → 25%)
  • Fervor bonus movement speed: 20 melee / 10 ranged → 20 for all champions
  • Fervor Proc Conditions: on dealing Physical Damage that bypasses shields/invulnerability → all physical damage, even if mitigated

Bounty of Worlds

  • Health increased: 100 → 200
  • Health regeneration increased: 50% → 75%
  • Mana regeneration increased: 50% → 75%

Luden's Companion

  • Ability haste increased: 20 → 25

Malignance

  • Ability haste increased: 20 → 25

Stridebreaker

  • passive movement speed now applies even if the damage is mitigated
  • active movement speed decay increased: 1.5s → 3.0s
  • active movement speed now displays a buff icon

Ravenous Hydra

  • Active now benefits from 150% of your lifesteal

Item Nerfs

Bloodsong

  • Range damage amp reduced: 6% → 5%

Rune Change

While the rune changes are nothing special, Lethal Tempo still gets a nice small buff.

Lethal Tempo

  • Melee attack speed per stack changed: 9-13.5% → 5-16%

Grasp of the Undying

  • Damage done → total max health gained

Legend: Alacrity

  • Progress to next stack → attack speed gained

Overheal

  • Total shield created → damage blocked

System Changes

Next to the classic item and rune changes, we also got some more unusual system changes for the game, including tether changes for certain champion's abilities, adjustments for fountain healing and a quality of life improvement for red side. Take a look below.

  • Several champions get their tether updated to instantly snap when exceeding max range
