LoL Patch 14.3: Riot Updating Key Feature Outside Of The Game

Riot is going to be updating something that doesn't directly impact your time on Summoner's Rift. Unfortunately, it isn't the LoL universe page, but it is something important for everyone who plays the game.

In 2023 the League of Legends dev team shipped multiple Mid-Scope Updates which included new abilities and new visuals for a bunch of champions. Along with those, older champions also received some visual effect improvements as well.

Some of those changes have been taken over onto the League of Legends client, while others were left behind. So now, Riot is going to be making some updates for all players.

In the League of Legends client, players are able to look over champions and see what their abilities do. Along with those videos is also a description of the ability. These can also be found on the official League of Legends page.

While there have been a lot of updates in the last year, especially with multiple Mid-Scope Updates going live, some of these changes have not been added yet to the champions page in the client, which is what Riot is going to be working on for LoL Patch 14.3.

Riot Pehrek outlined which champions already had their changes ported into the client's info page, while also stating that there are quite a few champions whose visual effect changes haven't been added to the ability videos yet.

So, champions like Yuumi, Rell and Neeko have had their videos changed, while others like Shaco, Thresh and Nocturne have been left behind. But in LoL Patch 14.3, these changes will be added to the client.

Riot Pehrek stated that the visual effect updated video for the following champions will be adjusted in the League of Legends client:

  • Janna
  • Nocturne
  • Shaco
  • Sivir
  • Syndra
  • Thresh
  • Tryndamere
  • Twisted Fate
  • Varus
  • Vayne
  • Veigar

These are quite a few updates. While these don't truly affect the champions, having updated VFX in the ability showcase is a great thing and helps with clarity once players actually use the champions in-game as well.
