LoL: New Dragonmancer Rakan Skin Reveals That He And Xayah Are Married

League of Legends champions Rakan and Xayah might not have gotten couple skins together in the Dragonmancer universe, but they're finally united and it seems also married.

Two years ago, Riot released a skin for Xayah without Rakan by her side, something that Riot said they wouldn't be doing. Brave Phoenix Xayah came to live servers in 2021, with a prestige version following in 2022. Now, Riot have unveiled the next batch of skins and this time Rakan is there without his beloved Xayah.

But it seems that the two might actually be together and that the initial Xayah skin is part of the same alternate universe as Dragonmancer Rakan. Oh, and there is an even cuter hidden meaning behind their two skins.

The Dragonmancer and Phoenixmancer skin lines are connected as part of the Four Beasts alternate universe. This AU is based off the Four Guardians from Chinese mythos. When doing a little more digging it's also interesting to find that in China the Phoenix and Dragon symbolize couples and marriage.

So, with Xayah already having a Phoenixmancer skin and Rakan receiving his Dragonmancer skin in LoL Patch 14.1, we can see that they're actually married. Not only that, but both champion skins also have prestige versions, once again coupling the love birds.

The splash art of Dragonmancer Rakan and Brave Phoenix Xayah also go together, forming a circle of sorts, which once again highlights the idea of marriage and love that come with the Dragon and Phoenix pairing. This duo symbolizes the yin (female and (yang) forces which the splash arts, when put together also could represent.

While it is well-knonw that Xayah and Rakan are a couple, this skin line and the pairing really gives them a 'married couple' feel and the inspiration from Chinese belief and mythology go perfectly together. So, while it might look like Rakan got his 'own skin', he truly is never far from Xayah.
