New "Rugby" Mode Spotted In MW3, Alongside Cyber Attack & Prisoner Rescue

Several new and returning modes have been found in the MW3 menus, including Prisoner Rescue, Cyber Attack, and something called "Rugby".

Modern Warfare 3 launched with all the traditional modes fans wanted, and a couple of new offerings in the form of War and Cut Throat. These modes have been awesome so far, especially War, which is ideal for objective-focused players, but the community need even more modes to stay engaged.

Thankfully, a number of new and returning modes have already been found in the leaderboard menu of MWIII. None of them have been released via playlist update yet, but we expect if they already exist on the leaderboard then they will be introduced shortly.

Unreleased Modes Found On MWIII Leaderboard

You can find these modes yourself, just go to Stats and then the Leaderboard, and search by "Game Mode". Doing this will allow you to tab across the various modes in MW3. But besides the traditional modes that we've already seen in MW3, the leaderboard also references several modes that have not been released yet:

  • Rugby (New)
  • Secure (New)
  • Hostage Rescue (MW2)
  • Knockout (MW2)
  • Cyber Attack (MW2019)

The returning modes will probably follow the exact same rules as they always have, but we have no idea how Secure and Rugby will play. Maybe Rugby will be a tug-of-war style mode like World at War's War mode (not the same as WW2/MW3's War mode). We simply don't know at this point, as these game modes were not leaked before MW3's release. Hopefully we find out soon.

As we said in our review of MW3, Sledgehammer have knocked it out the park with multiplayer, and so we aren't worried about these modes. Who knows, Rugby could soon be a fan-favorite in Call of Duty?
