MW3 Best MMR | Ranking Every Marksman Rifle In Modern Warfare 3

Marksman Rifles are back in MW3. These weapons have been around in CoD for a number of years now and they are basically the "light snipers". Here is how we rank every Marksman Rifle in Modern Warfare 3 for multiplayer.

We finally have a great CoD game again in Modern Warfare 3! We've been playing almost constantly, and we've been enjoying some of the Marksman Rifles so far. The best Marksman Rifles in MW3 still aren't going to be as popular as the ARs (at least for multiplayer) but there are some decent weapons in this class.

If you are new to "Marksman Rifles" in CoD these are essentially slightly weaker but faster snipers. The whole category get's pretty muddled, but that's what happens when you try to include BRs, MMRs and Snipers into one game.

Ranking Every Marksman Rifle In MW3

4. MTZ-Interceptor

Wow, now this was an awful weapon in the beta. But, it got buffed significantly at launch:

Increased bullet velocity by 15%.

Decreased aim down sights time from 330ms to 265ms (-20%).

The fire-rate still holds it back from being any higher on this list, but it's now viable at least.

The problem with the MTZ is very simple: The Interceptor can one-shot to the head, but it needs two-shots to kill if you hit anywhere else, however, the rate of fire is so slow that any half decent player will gun you before you can land that second shot. One-shot-headshots are always satisfying, but it's not enough of a justification to use this weapon over the dozens of other, better choices.

We really don't have anything good to say about the Interceptor. It might one day have a place in Warzone but in Multiplayer there's no way I can see this weapon becoming the meta unless it was fundamentally reworked.

3. MCW 6.8

The MCW 6.8 can be made into a full-auto with an Aftermarket Part, and that's how we think it's most effective. It becomes a really heavy AR in full-auto, and while the recoil is terrible, it can be worth dealing with for the damage.

The recoil is too bad for you to use the MCW 6.8 at longer ranges, but it's great for mid-sized map. Definitely viable and fun in pubs, but not meta.

The MCW 6.8 provides some great attachments, so like or not you probably will be levelling it this year anyway.

2. DM56

The DM56 looks ugly as hell; it's an off-brand G36 with a tiny half-mag, and a goofy thumbhole stock. But It actually has quite an interesting place within the meta.

This is the lightest of the MMRs, and it has handling and mobility stats on par with most of the ARs. The tradeoff for this advantage is that the DM56 often requires three shots to kill, not two. Also, it can't be made full-auto, it's only semi-auto.

So why does it have any relevance? The DM56 is one of the few semi-autos in the game that can fire almost as fast as you can pull the trigger, and so unlike the other MMRs it plays more like a semi-auto AR, such as the FAL. This makes it surprisingly effective, especially on maps with longer average engagement distances, like Estate and Wasteland.

The DM56 will surprise you, it was far more enjoyable to level than we feared.

1. KVD Enforcer

The KVD Enforcer has all the benefits of the Interceptor, needing only two shots to kill anywhere on the body, but its rate of fire is higher. This makes an enormous difference, because the KVD Enforcer is now just fast enough to hit that sweet spot where you can land two shots before the equivalent AR lands four. In most matchups, with all things being equal, the KVD Enforcer can therefore beat a lot of the most popular long-range full-auto options despite only being a semi-auto.

Also, the KVD can one-shot to the neck as well as the head, and this has a surprisingly significant effect on making headshots feel easier to land.

With a nice slate reflector and a few attachments to make the KVD snappier, you will be shocked at how fun this marksman rifle is to use in multiplayer.

That was our ranking of all the MMRs in Modern Warfare 3. Do you think we've chosen the best Marksman Rifle in MW3 for our top spot, or do you think we're sleeping on a meta weapon?

Which celeb will be next to collab with CoD?
