The Little Mermaid, The Lion King and now Lilo & Stitch: Disney won't stop with the live-action versions of their iconic movies. We'll show you everything we know about the Lilo & Stitch live-action movie. So, let's take a closer look at the possible release, the confirmed cast and what else the upcoming movie has got to offer.

Lilo & Stitch (Live-Action) | Confirmed Cast

For Lilo, we got newcomer Maia Kealoha. Maia is definitely the youngest actress and only 7 years old! Gonna be insane to see such a young girl playing one of the most important roles. But she for sure will do a great job!

While we (luckily) won't get a dude running around in a costume for Stitch, Chris Sanders will return as the voice actor for Stitch. He also dubbed him all the way back in 2002. Great to see him reprising his role!

But the two of them would be lost without Lilo's big sister, right? Therefore, we got Sydney Agudong slipping into the role of Nani.

Other confirmed voice actors of the movie are Billy Magnussen as Agent Pleakley, Tia Carrere as Mrs. Kekoa and Hangover -star Zach Galifianakis as Jumba.

Unrest Due To Live-Action Disney Movies

While lots of people appreciate the new movie adaptions of iconic animated Disney movies, at least just as many also despise them. A lot of people believe that when Disney turns their animated movies into live-action, they lose the vibrant and colorful sparkle that the animated versions had.

This time, though, Disney gets criticized for letting Sydney Agudong play the role of Nani (Lilo's big sister). People call Disney out for "whitewashing", because Nani got a darker skin color in the animated movie and series than the actress.

However, in our opinion, this accusation is not justified this time. Yeah, she might have a lighter skin color and brown instead of black hair, but Sydney Agudong is of Hawaiian descent and therefore suits perfectly in the setting of Lilo & Stitch.

Will They Ruin Stitch With The Live-Action Movie?

Stitch is an absolute adorable alien and made us laugh lots of times in the animated series, but also scored with his cute look. I mean, look at his huge puppy eyes! It could be really rough to put him into a live-action movie without destroying his iconic character or lose the magic the little guy had in the animated version.

Until now, we also got no footage at all for the live-action movie and therefore don't know how Stitch will look like. Let's hope that they don't ruin him like Sonic got ruined back then. Fingers crossed!
