FIFA 22 Shapeshifters Team 4 Is Here! With Abedi Pele And Kante

After Team of the Season dominated FIFA 22 for weeks, the event is finally over and a new promo is already ready to go. EA Sports brings back the Shapeshifters, which we already know from FIFA 20, as the first big summer event.

We tell you everything you have to know about Shapeshifters in FIFA 22 – all players, current leaks and all other details, we have everything you need right here. So let's check it out right away!

What Is Shapeshifters In FIFA 22?

Shapeshifters is the new event in FIFA 22 and the first one after weeks of Team of the Season content. As one of the last events in FIFA 22, the upgrades for the players have to be real heavy to make it into the teams for most players right now.

So we should be able to look forward to really crazy stats. There should also be some SBCs or new objectives for FUT. In addition, some nice rewards are waiting for you with Summer Swaps.

When Is Shapeshifters Coming To FIFA 22?

The first Shapeshifters team was released on Friday, June 17, 2022 – so at 7pm CEST / 1pm EDT/ 10am PDT, the new special cards were available in packs. The second batch of players was released one week later, on June 24.

With the 3rd set of players of the Shapeshifters, stronger heroes are coming to FUT once again. Team 3 is coming on 01.07. at 7 p.m.

When Is Shapeshifters Team 4 Coming?

The Shapeshifters Promo Team 4 in FIFA 22 released on July 8th.

TEAM 4 has now been confirmed to arrive

FUTTIES likely to start from next week (can't give full confirmation).

Shapeshifters – How Will The Cards Work?

Shapeshifters are NOT dynamic cards – they get a hefty one-time upgrade, but can't improve any further after that. However, as the name suggests, EA Sports decided to go with some position changes again.

For example, strikers can be converted to center backs... or the other way around. This, of course, creates tons of new possibilities when building teams in Ultimate Team. EA has used this concept several times in FUT – for example with the Freeze-Event in FIFA 21. It makes sense because the special cards are always very popular with the community.

First FIFA 22 Shapeshifters Team – With Messi, Davies and Hazard

After we already had a look at the leaks of Shapeshifters in FIFA 22, and now we can see the official team, we have to admit that the upgrades look really sick so far. The selection of players with their new positions could really shake up the Ultimate Team meta a bit. Have a look at the first team yourself:

It all looks pretty nice, with the card design and the players' upgrades and everything. We love the Shapeshifters version of Alphonso Davies especially. You can now play the Bayern star as a striker – with 99 pace, of course. How cool is that?

Speaking of 99... Lionel Messi got the first (Prime Icon Moments Pelé excluded) card with a 99 overall rating in FIFA 22. But we assume that in the remaining months until the start of FIFA 23 the 99 bar will be crossed even more often.

FIFA 22 Shapeshifter Mini Release 1

Well, that's just how events in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team work. Besides the official launch of the promo with the first batch of players, we can always expect a mini release some days later. And that's obviously the case with Shapeshifters as well.

FIFA 22 Shapeshifters Team 2 – With Ronaldo, Marcelo And Ramos

Well, the leaks of Team 2 have promised us some really cool Shapeshifters cards. Of course, promises are not meant to be broken... and meanwhile, the cards are officially available in FIFA 22! Good luck with your packs because the upgrades are amazing this time:

FIFA 22 Shapeshifter Mini Release 2

The second mini-release also brought three new Shapeshifters to Ultimate Team, but unfortunately, they are not that exciting this time... Adama Traore could at least be quite interesting because of his Pace, and Emre Can is definitely one of the better Bundesliga center backs.

But let's be honest, 90% of the time we pack Thiago Mendes and... well, he's probably one of the most useless Shapeshifters in FIFA 22.

FIFA 22 Shapeshifters Team 3 – With Ginola, Ribery And Rashford

Team 3 is leaked – the Hero Shapeshifters are here! We already said at the beginning of FIFA 22 that David Ginola is awesome on the pitch. The Shapeshifters version will be insane! Franck Ribery looks great too – and Rashford will destroooy.

We had already expected Jürgen Kohler, James Maddison and Gio Reyna as part of the next mini release – and now these three players are officially in the game. Besides a few more exciting position changes, it is also worth mentioning that the German FUT Hero has now been released as a Premier League Hero – usually he's a build-around card for Bundesliga squads.

Shapeshifters Team 4 – With Kante, Abedi Pele And De Ligt

In Shapeshifters Team 3 we have already witnessed the return of some FUT Heroes – and with team 4, even more heroes came back to the game. In addition, N'Golo Kanté – and his cute smile – got an absolutely insane card with 5* skills. So he won't just vacuum up everything in the midfield, but also outplay his opponents like it's nothing.

With Mini-Release 4 we probably got the last batch of players during the Shapeshifters event in FIFA 22 – we don't assume that the promo will run for another week. Before we can finally look forward to FUTTIES, one more FUT Hero and two other players with position changes have been released. Except for Cahill, they can't really convince us, though.

How Many Shapeshifters Teams Are Coming To FIFA 22?

If you thought that we were heading into one week of Shapeshifters because it would then be replaced by FUTTIES you were wrong. We get a total of four teams with properly mixed positions and upgraded stats.

Who else is coming? 99-rated Robert Lewandowski? Karim Benzema? Or maybe Harry Maguire after all? Let's wait and see. In any case, the Manchester United captain (despite all the memes) deserves a special card in FUT...

And that's all you need to know about the Shapeshifters in FIFA 22. The promo so far really looks like it has some potential and will bring out some nice end-game cards for Ultimate Team. You just have to be lucky and pack them....
