Elden Ring DLC: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition Comparison

Elden Ring's first DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, looks like a beefy expansion. You can pre-order it already, but you'll need to pick between one of the various editions. Below, you can find a complete Shadow of the Erdtree editions comparison, to help you decide.

We just received the Shadow of the Erdtree release date, and luckily it's not too far away (June). But what some players might not have been expecting is quite how large this DLC looks. The Shadow of the Erdtree system requirements have already revealed the size of this expansion, and if we couple that with what we know about the price, we can already tell that this is going to be massive.

FromSoftware are offering multiple editions of this DLC, and with the Base and Premium editions, you can also buy them as bundles that include the base game. We've broken down the price and included content for each edition below, to help you decide which edition of the Elden Ring DLC to buy.

Where will Shadow of the Erdtree be set?

We will be going to an entirely new location in this expansion, called "The Land of Shadows".

Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot.

There is a large cloud on the Elden Ring map, south of the Erdtree. This is where many are speculating we might be headed, but nothing has been officially confirmed about the "The Land of Shadows" yet.

Those were all the various Shadow of the Erdtree editions that are now available for pre-order.

Considering this Malenia statue is the only really great figurine we've found so far, the Collector's Edition will certainly be tempting for quite a few. But it's for each customer to decide for themselves.

Pre-Order Bonus With Every Edition: "Ring of Miquella" (Gesture)

No matter which edition you choose to buy, if you pre-order your purchase rather than waiting until release, you will get a free gesture called "Ring of Miquella". Here is how it looks:

This is not the best gesture we've ever seen, but that's a good thing; we don't want publishers pressuring their audience into pre-ordering. It's far better if consumers are instead allowed to wait until the game is released, and has been reviewed, so that they can make an informed decision about their purchase.

That said, given how highly we reviewed Elden Ring, we think you can pre-order Shadow of the Erdtree safe in the knowledge that you're getting a great product.
